and clothing to 940 area school children in need of assistance.

... Remembering School Store 2012 ...

The Annual School Store and Clothing Giveaway is a much anticipated event at College Hills.  Over the years thousands of children in our community have been given free basic, necessary supplies and clothing for the new school year.  Low income families always have a struggle, but higher gas and grocery costs will make this year even harder.  There are MANY ways each of us can be a part of the 2013 School Store and assure that all children in Lebanon will begin school with the needed supplies ... through our prayers, time, supplies, money, and other resources.  It's never too early to start gathering and planning for School Store!

Guest Information ...  On Saturday (8:00-11:00 am) please use the guest entrance on the West side of the College Hills church building  (closest to South Hartmann)

Students (Pre-K through 8th grade) from the following area schools are invited to join us for the annual School Store to receive free school supplies and back to school clothes:

Byars Dowdy Elementary

Sam Houston Elementary

Watertown Elementary

Coles Ferry Elementary

Southside Elementary

Walter J. Baird Middle

Carroll Oakland Elementary

Tuckers Crossroads

Winfree Bryant Middle

Castle Heights Upper Elementary

Child and Parent or Guardian must both attend!  Free supplies include backpack, spiral notebooks, pencils, paper, crayons, glue, 1st & 2nd grade tablets, 3 ring binders, folders, and scissors.  All items are first come, first served.

School Supplies ... Beginning in June 2013, you will notice trees with paper apples attached to them around the College Hills building.  Each apple lists school supplies that will be needed for our School Store on July 27.  Please "pick an apple", purchase the listed supplies, and bring the items to the School Store box in the College Hills church foyer.  Cash donations can be given to Jim & Annabelle Robinson (leaders of the School Store Ministry), or the church office staff.  They will use the funds to purchase supplies in bulk quantities.

Clothing ... As you clean out your children's outgrown but in good condition clothes, remember that we need them for the clothing giveaway at the School Store.  All sizes (many middle school and high school students wear adult sizes) of shirts (especially collared solid polo shirts), pants (navy, black, khaki, hunter green) and jeans in are needed.  We are always grateful to receive cash donations to purchase underwear and other needed items.  Room 423 in the Children’s Wing will serve as our sorting/working/storage room.   During the months of June/July, workers are needed on Wednesday evenings in room 423 in the children's wing to sort and size clothes.  See Anita Farmer or Linda McDowell if you have questions.

Also needed:  Belts, shoes, jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, socks, underwear.

Guidelines for school clothes include:

County Schools: All tops must have a collar and sleeves. They are to be a solid color and can have a stripe no wider than one inch on the collar or sleeves. Belts are needed for anything with belt loops in grades 6-12.  Jeans or pants/skirts in navy blue, black, khaki, dark green, or brown are permitted.

City Schools:
Students 4th grade and under: no restrictions on clothing.
Students 5th grade and up: No blue jeans or denim of any kind. Solid navy blue, khaki, or hunter green pants/skirts.  Collared shirts in solid white, navy blue, or hunter green.

Please bring only clothes that are clean and in good condition.
We always accept
cash donations for purchasing other items.
