Moving Toward The Vision
Making the Vision a Reality
We cannot reach our vision overnight. In order to make it a reality, the congregation will focus on several smaller goals each year. Some of these objectives are already in process, and others will be addressed later.
Leadership Development
Insuring the development of our future ministry leaders is essential to our growth and expansion efforts. We will develop a strong base of leaders, teachers, and volunteers.
· Develop talents and hearts for serving. Encourage the use and growth of existing talents.
· Establish leadership training for all ages, both male and female, to include providing opportunities for service.
· Restructure ministry leaders’ system.
· Restructure elders’ role to insure increased shepherding and less administrative tasks.
· Developing staffing plan to accommodate planned growth.
Spiritual Formation
In order to develop people to be Christ-like, we will empower, encourage, and help each other use special God-given talents.
· Identify a master curriculum for all classes.
· Develop a Bible class curriculum for new Christians.
· Develop a Life Group leaders training and mentoring program.
· Implement a new member assimilation and mentoring ministry.
· Build a program that educates women, men, teens, and children about opportunities to serve.
Praise and Worship
God’s will is for all creation to acknowledge that He is God and that He created all, and that He gave His Son as the ultimate sacrifice. God is to be honored, revered, and worshipped.
· Insure inspirational and Bible-centered preaching from the pulpit.
· Insure that our Sunday morning assembly is inspiring, appropriate, focused on worship of God, edifying one another, and supported by prayer.
· Strive for excellence and relevance so that all age groups feel the ability to worship.
· Educate our congregation regarding Biblical teaching on worship as a life style focused on God, His son, and the Holy Spirit through service and love for our neighbors.
Missions and Evangelism
The great commission as provided in Matthew 28 is the basis for our outreach efforts to evangelize. We seek to bring those of our community, as well as those in other regions of the world, to a fuller understanding that Christ is the ultimate fulfillment of the covenant of God with His people.
· Instill a passion for local evangelism that focuses on reaching those who do not know the living Christ.
· Insure that our involvement in foreign mission efforts effectively uses the
resources provided.
· Grow our congregation through the recognition that by the grace of God, Jesus Christ is the sole means of salvation.
· Develop a world-wide missions plan that establishes the long-term objectives and plans of this work.
· Expand our focus on greeting and welcoming visitors.
Community Service
Being Christ-like entails creating an understanding and appreciation of the concept of serving others. We believe that Christ’s exhortation in Matthew 25 regarding our care for others is important.
· Strengthen the ability of Hearthside to serve the needs of our aging population.
· Expand our efforts in reaching the various ethnic groups of our community.
· Expand our capabilities of providing for the homeless and needy in our community. Use a range of volunteer services and provisions to those in search of basic needs such as clothing, nourishment, and shelter.
· Identify opportunities to enable our congregation to stand as a clear conscience in the community.
