Making it personal ... for College Hills to succeed in making 2009 a year of compassion, outreach, and growth, it has to be more than a slogan. It needs to come to life in daily decisions.
Some ideas to help you set personal goals ...
Compassion... invest in a relationship
-
Get to know someone in need.
-
Develop a friendship with a non-Christian.
-
Encourage a younger or older person.
-
Invest in a friendship with a person of another race.
-
Meet the people next door.
-
Connect with a co-worker or classmate.
-
Pray for a heart of compassion.
-
Chat about life over a cup of coffee.
-
Volunteer at a school or non-profit organization.
Outreach... invite someone to take a step toward Jesus
-
Pray for loved ones who do not know Jesus.
-
Offer to pray when someone is hurting.
-
Invite a visitor to your Bible class.
-
Bring a friend to LIFE group.
-
Host a party for Christians and non-Christians.
-
Ask "Do you have a church home?"
-
Take a friend to a Christian concert, seminar, or service project.
Growth... involve yourself and others in faith-building situations.
-
Be intentional about avoiding temptation and putting yourself in places where you are likely to grow.
-
-
Discover a new way to use a gift for God.
-
Get involved in a new ministry.
-
Deepen your faith by investing in prayer and study.
-
Find a group to support your spiritual growth ... a LIFE group or a Bible Class.

"How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the LORD.
I will fulfill my vows to the LORD
in the presence of all his people"
Psalm 116:12-14
