2011 was a challenging year for our church and our nation.
Looking back, though, we can see that God was faithful to lead us through the obstacles, making us stronger and using us to bless others...
• We sent 60 people on short-term mission trips.
• We gave away 1021 backpacks full of supplies at School Store.
• We provided $30,000 to fund the operations of a school in Limon de la Cerca, Honduras.
• We invested in the next generation of faith by adding a minister focused on young adults.
• We nurtured disciples by launching the Faith@Home initiative.
• We hosted a Ministry Fair that involved over 50 ministries.
• We enjoyed great fellowship on 5th Sunday nights.
• We co-hosted a community-wide worship service on September 11.
• We eliminated more than $1 million of debt, leaving us in marvelous financial shape for the future.
• We baptized 73 people through local ministry, jail ministry, and World Bible School ministry.
• We re-vamped the deacon program, ordaining 22 men to serve.
• We activated online giving through collegehills.org.
Who could have predicted how 2011 would end? In spite of a difficult economy, God enabled us to exceed our budget in the second half of the year and to eliminate more than $1 million in debt. Praise God!
For 2012, we have developed ministry plans that total $1,225,712. We will fund these plans with a budget of $24,000 per week over 51 Sundays. If the church can exceed that target, we have several projects that we would like to fund in the second half of the year. Print-outs of the budget are available at the Info Depot.
We have set aside a Sunday in April and one in November for mission offerings. We need to raise $100,000 on these two days, which will go toward reaching the lost around the world.
